Our Mission Statement

Presidio Hill School is a co-educational independent school committed to multiculturalism and the development of our students into active and responsible participants in the world.

By tradition and current emphasis, Presidio Hill encourages children to question, evaluate, and think creatively and independently. Social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth are promoted through an enriched individualized program. Basic and practical skills are taught as useful tools rather than ends in themselves. Children are encouraged in their strengths, assisted in overcoming weaknesses, and recognized for their uniqueness.

Parents, staff, and students participate in decision making as a collaborative school community.

Multicultural Programs and Services

Presidio Hill School is committed to sustaining an equitable and just school culture. We respect, affirm, and defend the dignity and worth of each member of the school community. Presidio Hill makes this commitment tangible in the day-to-day functions of the school through:
  • student and family support: encouraging and guiding students and their families in accessing academic, cultural, and social opportunities in the PHS community;
  • curriculum: supporting faculty in sustaining a multicultural curriculum and inclusive classrooms;
  • outreach and hiring: collaborating with the director of admissions in outreach to diverse communities; assisting the directors and deans in recruiting a diverse staff.
