General Information
Welcome to AEP!
The After-school Enrichment Program (AEP) provides extended care, childcare, camp and enrichment class opportunities to PHS families.
The Neighborhood
The extended day after-school program is now known as “The Neighborhood.” The Neighborhood is open to all students TK-8. The program starts at dismissal. The Neighborhood will be divided into two groups, TK-2 and 3-8, for most of the day, with opportunities for mixed group activities and play. During the extended day, students are provided with a light snack, outdoor and indoor play time, and structured activities. Students in 3rd-8th grade will also have 30 minutes of academic time for homework and study.
Enrichment Classes
Exciting and engaging enrichment classes are offered during the extended day during three 8-10 week sessions and incur additional fees. Examples of classes include Spanish, art, music lessons, hapkido and dance. A catalog of classes, rates, procedures and a registration form will be distributed before each session.
Childcare & Camp
Childcare is available on select in-service and conference days from 8am-6pm, and camp is available during February and spring breaks from 9am-5pm. Advance reservation is required to reserve a spot. Childcare and camp are offered contingent upon a minimum enrollment of 10 students. On childcare and camp days, day-long activities and field trips are planned to last most of the day. These include visits to the park, library, museums or zoo and doing art, cooking, science and other activities.

How to Use AEP
The Neighborhood
Advance sign-up for extended care is not required. Parents should inform their child and child’s teacher of after-school plans. Parents may also inform the AEP Director of after-school plans especially if there are changes.
Students will only be released to parents, guardians or authorized pick-up persons. If your child will be picked up by someone not on the authorized list, please contact the AEP Director by noon that day. Students MUST be signed-out with an after-school teacher on the after-school clipboard. Please indicate time of pick-up with an adult signature. Failure to do so will result in a 6pm check out time.
Childcare, Camps & Enrichment Classes
Registration is required. Information and announcements about registration will be made when childcare and camp opportunities become available through the Presidio Post.
Enrichment class catalogs are distributed before each session. Registration and payment are required by the deadline before the start of each class in order to ensure a spot in the class.
Rates
All plans are based on a full after-school day (3:00-6:00) rate of $30 per day. The three payment plans that are offered in making tuition payments are offered again for the after school program, i.e. a family may pay in one, two or 10 month installments. There will be no refunds for unused days.
